Next term’s topic is called Carnival of the Animals and to give a fun start we would like the children to dress up as their favourite animal on Friday 28th February.
This week the children have been writing the Lost and Found story. They have been using finger spaces, capital letters and full stops as well as some describing words.

In the science lesson the children revisited the idea of sorting animals according to their diet and this time they have recorded their findings in their science book.

Next week I would like to re start our shared reading time with parents. This will be on Tuesday at 2.20pm so if you have a little bit of spare time do come and join us for some story sharing.
A big welcome to the children from Peake Class who are now in Jemison and Hawking classes. We spent most of Monday having a nurture day so that the transition was as smooth and calm as possible for the children. They have settled really well and we are very proud of all of them.

I wold like to say a great big thank you to all of children and staff in Year One. The Christmas play was a real success thank to a real effort from everyone. Thanks also to the parents who supported us either by helping their children learn the lines, or coming to watch the finished performance. It was lovely to see so many of you there.
